564 Miles Down – 89% To Go!
The Cycling for Change team just finished the first 11% of the 5,092 mile bike ride across America. Our CEO, Jason Christensen is pictured riding from Biggs Junction, Oregon – their stop last night - to Umatilla, OR. They have met some fascinating people along the way, re-discovered themselves, and have enjoyed seeing the wonderful sights of the great Northwest!
Although the ride has been grueling, with cold weather and rain most days since the beginning of the trip nine days ago, raising awareness of poverty in such a physical way has also been rewarding.
You can make a difference in the lives of people in poverty simply by getting involved. Do something kind for someone in need; attend the local Freedom from Poverty Celebration scheduled for July 8 at America the Beautiful Park; join in on the local bike ride; make a donation to an agency who provides services to help people in poverty. For more information on local activities planned for when the national team reaches Colorado, click on the Cycling for Change graphic on the right side of this page.
Everyone can make a difference!
