Name of The New Marian House SELF SUFFICIENCY CENTER unveiled

Today, officials, dignitaries and community leaders were on hand at the Marian House to witness the
unveiling of the Marian House, Bishop Richard C. Hanifen Center “Pathway to Opportunity
and Self-Sufficiency”, or the Hanifen Center at Marian House for short.
The Hanifen Center at Marian House will house most of Catholic Charities Emergency & Transition
Services, which is comprised of the Marian House Community Outreach program and Marian House Client
Services, as well as programs in collaboration with other social service agencies around town. Eventually,
the Marian House Life Support Center will move into the building and be located on the first floor. They are
currently located in the Catholic Pastoral Center.
Speaking in support of the naming for Catholic Charities was Jason Christensen, Executive Director of
Catholic Charities who spoke about the programs to be housed the center and Fr. Don Dunn, President of the
Catholic Charities Board of Directors, who read the proclamation naming the center after Bishop Hanifen.
